Colophon

How this site is made, and what it does — and does not do — while you read it.

Type

Bodoni Moda
Every heading and the name. A variable Didone by Owen Earl, used across its full range of weights: light for long lines, heavy where light has to pass through the letters.
Geist
Everything read as text or pressed as a control. By Vercel.

Made with

Next.js and React
Pages generated ahead of time, so they arrive as plain HTML.
three.js, WebGPU and TSL
The light in the first screen, with WebGL 2 and then plain HTML underneath it as fallbacks.
GSAP and Lenis
Scroll-linked motion and the smoothing on the scroll, on one shared clock.
Canvas and raw WebGL 2
The lab pieces, each written for this site without a library.

Privacy

Nothing is tracked
No analytics, no cookies, no advertising, no third-party scripts. The typefaces are served from this site, so not even a font request goes elsewhere.

Access

Less motion
If your device asks for reduced motion, the loader, the zooms and the scroll effects stand still and every page is complete without them.
Keyboard and screen readers
Every control is reachable by keyboard with a visible focus ring, and the decorative type has real text beside it for assistive technology.
No graphics card
Without WebGPU or WebGL the name is set in HTML with the same colours, and nothing is lost.
